Day 8 - May 12 - BUDAPEST

We made it!

Euro Velo 6 - Belgrade to Budapest. 

Kilometer running total is just over 600.

The day started with a trip to TESCO, but to get there we had to fight some serious traffic - it felt like home 😉

The EV6 "route" was another adventurous day, with the Ride with GPS stating "right turn in 500 meters" and again we are facing the Danube!

And a very interesting ferry that was a barge pushed by a boat. Hey. It works!  Of course we had to wait 45 minutes for the 5 minute ride. So we went to the closest coffee shop.... (It is good to travel with your own barista!)

We did face a hill. A nasty hill. And we both made it up, and down. 

The rest of the day was the EV6 eclectic mix of roads and paths and fields and alleys, and some stretches on the river too.

And it sure was nice to pull into Budapest, take off the cycling kit (and wash it 😳), put on our walking shoes and walk right to the thermal baths!  

Tomorrow we are tourists.
