Day 12, May 16 Balaton Beach

Lake Balaton is a classic vacation destination but not quite overly commercialized with mini-putt and cotton candy. More lakeside cafes and vacation homes. 

We spent the first half of the day up in the hills with a panoramic view, and the second half along the lakeshore bike path. 

Our Warmshowers host Tamas is a tourer and professional cartographer so there was a lot of route making this morning. Very fun.

Our campground is spotless and fully equipped. We are looking forward to a cool breeze into our lakeside tent tonight and an early morning start to beat the heat as we head for the western edge of the lake tomorrow.
