Day 7 - Tourists in Montpellier (May 9, 2023)

It is a treat to get up and not have to pack up the tent.  We did a practice ride to the train station, which was a good idea. An early train (+ 2 connections) to Tarbes tomorrow 🤞

We are on the outskirts camping so we got to see the sprawl of Montpellier, with lots of modern condo construction surrounding the very old city core. This place just keeps growing and the Universities keep it young.

A lovely little fountain that everyone takes a photo with, and yes this is a road that is shared with cars and trucks and people and even a tour train!

The streets were quiet this morning, and yet somehow they still felt bustling.

L'Arc de Triumph (the other one 😉) above and an incredible cathedral (below)

We had a nice lunch at an outdoor cafe, real cutlery such a treat 😉

And then back to the tent for night 2 at the same spot. A little rain has us huddled in our tent for a few hours, time for more planning, but the rain has stopped and the evening is cool and quiet.

Stats for the tourists on their bikes
