Day 22 - Windswept

Cold morning.

Very cold and windy. We just wanted warmth and no wind, so we bailed on our oatmeal and we packed up and went to the local Tabac and Cafe. Just what we needed to start the day. And yes, the coffee cup is empty. The first one went down fast, the second one I savoured.

So many cute little seaside towns with seasonal homes and touristy main streets.  Nice tree trimming!

And today we rode along the seashore and saw the many beautiful dunes. They have a lot of vegetation on them. Of course. Because in these winds, if they didn't, they wouldn't exist. So much wind.

Construction everywhere. But that's ok. They are are keeping the bike path beautiful with lovely wooden stakes.

Another seaside town with a harbour full of fishing boats.

And the sea shore. It seems the tide is always LOW, what's up with that? This was rather pretty, in person, the photo doesn't capture it.

And we hugged the coast most of the day, and the views were gorgeous.

Of course every Lighthouse brings with it work stress 🤣🤣

Beautiful views and, yes, low tide.

And even some time for relaxing, a short nap looking out at the pier.

As we approached Fromintine, another lovely forest park and dunes. How about these stairs for training!!

We made it. A short day so we could do some laundry and treat ourselves to some relaxing and exploring, and enjoying some local beaches, local seafood, and local wine!

Finally dipping our toes in the ocean.

Walking back to our bikes at low tide, the wind swirled the sand and it hit us. Ouch. Seriously. It is windy here!

At the local oyster distributor, you can choose your oysters and enjoy a glass of wine, bread and french butter, and oysters and shrimp. Nice way to start!

Or just use their oyster vending machine 😜

Did I mention the wind?

So many kite surfers, but how they do it I do not know. The gusts of wind are so strong.

A good day of good riding and good food and clean laundry.
And wind. Lots of wind.

Thanks for all the comments!
We love to get them.
