Day 25 - Starting along the Loire

Stage 4 begins, with a breakfast of pain au chocolate and kisses from Adele. Au revoir to our hosts and away we go!

We are following EV 6 and the Loire river. 

The path out of Nantes was well signed and easy to follow out of the city (keep the river on your right).  Some lush farmers fields and meadows to the left, and then lots of gravel path, some quite tight for our fully loaded bikes, along the train tracks for a long way. Lovely views of the river and a few Chateaus.  

P-M not only treated us to our favorite breakfast this morning, but sent us on our way with lunch too! Such a treat. 

We only did 40 k today as we wanted to do a few errands - laundry, groceries and Decathlon for camping fuel - all accomplished. 

The campground has a special section for Velo, (including picnic tables, a shelter with a frig and a microwave!), and we had our choice of space when we arrived so early. "anywhere on the grass" 

We chose a shady corner and pitched, and now, at 8 pm the place is full, the cyclists just keep arriving and finding a space "anywhere on the grass".  See photo, with 6 tents behind ours...

It is a long weekend here (again!), so there are lots of families and travellers in general. Fun!

They also have shelters, like little tree houses, that some cyclists are sleeping in. Very cool. 

A beautiful evening here, about 24 with a light breeze. A walk along the river for us, as we plan the next week of adventure along the Loire.
