Day 26 - Angers

We crossed the bridge to ride on the south side of the Loire first thing this morning. More road, less path.

It was a lovely quiet ride with shade and paved paths, some long stretches of black top in the sun too, which was hot. And interesting views.

Being Sunday, as we passed through this little village, we could hear the congregation singing!

Picnic lunch beside a bridge as we watched a fisherman reel in some big fish.

And then we climbed a little and got some views.

We followed the path closely along the river for many kms and found it very busy. No photos as we had to really stay alert. A beautiful Sunday of a long weekend and everyone was out!

The stone walls, fences, houses and barns continue to amaze me. Along the river there were stone walls for miles. I did get a few photos. Love these walls.

We are at a **** 4-star campground tonight. It is hopping! So many families and kids and people from all over. Busy pool, a bar and restaurant, playgrounds, dogs.  It is fun to be around so many young people. We are in the velo area again. Seems that the Loire Valley campgrounds understand cyclists!  We have our own picnic table here. That's a huge win.

Our tent neighbor suggested we ride into town to a popular place where people gather for summer evenings. Around the lake and up the river we went to see beautiful views of the city. Such a wonderful suggestion, we loved it.  This is Angers.

26 days, and still smiling!

Today's stats

Plus 8 more in our adventure this evening.

Tomorrow is (another) national holiday, so we ordered bread delivery to the campsite 😁  Sweet dreams of fresh bread (and pain au chocolat)

Thanks for the comments.
