Day 24 - Nantes & Friends

The end of Stage 3!

We said goodbye to our host Daniel, and our cute little garage cottage. 

And headed for Nantes, with some very cool places along the way. 

We spent the rest of day being tourists and Nantes and enjoyed the island and giant elephant.  

Les Machines de L'ile. Hard to explain. Worth a Google. 

The elephant is 12m (40 feet) high, 8m (26 feet) wide, 21m (70 feet) long and 48,4 metric tons of steel and wood. And it goes out for a walk. 

Lunch was delicious crepes and sparkling apple juice 

We followed the "green line" to see some beautiful buildings and churches and the Pierre et Paul Cathedral. And a lovely cafe where we spent our afternoon on the sidewalk in the shade. Relaxing. 

The highlight if the day was being welcomed by friends, Pierre-Marie and Charlotte, and their beautiful daughters Louise and Adele.  Play time. Delicious food. Lots of laughs and a bed for the night. 

What a perfect way to finish Stage 3.
