Last night we went to get ice cream. Creme Glace.
We walked into the little town, and found the Town Hall (Hotel de Ville), the old city walls, an impressive church, some quaint old homes and paths.
But no ice cream.
It was 32 Celsius, still sunny and hot at 8 pm. And not a scoop of ice cream to be found.
Home sick for Lola's!
I found a hard candy that came from the place we stayed in San Sebastian. I have to say, that little candy tasted so good. Not ice cream, for sure, but grateful for the sweet little treat at the bottom of my tube bag. Thinking next year maybe we need to try Italy, I am quite sure I could find gelato anywhere, anytime.

Today we found some hills. Nothing too dramatic, but let's just say we used every gear we brought. An early climb to wake up the legs, and some lovely long downhills on quiet smooth roads.
It was a very pretty ride, mostly through poppy lined crop fields, and some wooded areas (for some needed shade). No vineyards yet. Hard to capture the rolling hills in photos. I gave it a try. Thanks for following along. We love comments.
Such a cute village - I was already to move! But no ice cream - that is a pretty serious drawback!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful vistas! Amazing how quickly you went from having lots of Velo company to none.
Chablis! Now that is something to help you give strength for hills tomorrow! Thanks for sharing. Miss you! Love, Jean
Ice cream is a necessity!
DeleteWow those churches are impressive, they look like Notre Dame!! Yes you did make my mouth water Chablis ! Hey we should try that with our kayaks on lake Ontario, you and Marc against Robert and I. Hope you took a video.
