Day 34 - Au revoir Loire!

Our last kilometers on the Loire this morning. Lovely tree lined paths, the levy, and some smooth roads.

And a few wee bridges.

A little stressful when the first Boulangerie was Ferme on Lundi 😧

But we got local intel and found the one that was open. Whew.

We passed through Gien, and saw.... you guessed it... another Chateau.

And then made our way to Briare. Last stop on Stage 4.

We had made some cycling friends on the route today. Two guys pulling trailers, we kept passing each other. So I got him to take our photo just as we were passing the Loire for the last time, at a canal.

The canal is very interesting. Started in the 1600's!  Beautifully kept.  After a little "deviation" to the grocery store, we went by Lock 5 and 6.

And less than 10 km later we arrived at our lovely little campground.

An evening walk in the quiet little town. Not much of anything happening, but a lovely evening breeze.

Only one other cyclist, and a very interesting old refurbished trailer (pulled by a Jaguar 😀). Cool neighbors tonight.

Crazy thing is, the price for camping tonight was 5,80 euros 😀
Now that's value!

Stage 5. Here we go!!  Thanks for your interest and comments.
