Year five.
We love this place.
Yesterday we drove straight through from Toronto. A good car picnic, no traffic and perfect weather. Oh, and very few speed traps too. We missed our visiting stops in Kingston and Montreal, but when the sun sets at 4:15 and you want to arrive in daylight, stops are few and short.
It is not an exciting drive - get on the 401 and head east. Once in Quebec, take the 20. We had a nice view of Quebec city as we circled north of it and then he bridge ...
The Chutes....
And the slopes, that's how we know are close.
Saint Ferreol Les Neiges.
Not a lot of snow, but definitely enough. 100+ kms of trail are open and groomed. That's what the website said. I only saw about 15 km 😜
I started by going slow and steady and doing one of my favourite trails. #33. Just over 12 kms, green trail, up onto the mountainside, and then a long trail across and down. Two huts on the way (didn't need to warm up today). I heard a few birds and saw a couple of chipmunks but otherwise a quiet, contemplative day.
Marc was "just ahead of me"... See him? (I rarely see him on the trails either.)
Coming into the chalet cracked me up with all the same ski bags ... Looks a bit like my wardrobe, lots of black!
We are hoping for more snow, but we can't complain, we have a good base of sniw and the temperature is negative but only one digit negative 😀
My Strava stats show a slow and steady start, with miles to go before we leave....
Bon nuit
