Some mornings you wake up and just worry that your day might be poopy. Well, ours started that way as apparently our tent was pitched right in the line of "fire" for the morning doves...good morning 😳
No worries, we borrowed a brush and lots of water and the tent is back to clean. We were reminded of the "wive's tale" that claims you will have good luck if a bird poops on you. We've got a lot of good luck coming 🤣
After the poop, the day got better.
Breakfast on the lawn in sunshine.
Fresh water from the pretty tap to fill.our bottles.
And we said goodbye to Camping Barcelona, and set off along the coast, northward.
A bit of a head wind, a bit of beach and some highway.
We found a little bakery to buy lunch, but we almost got a parking ticket from the (very serious) parking lady. No selfie with her, I was too afraid to ask 😬
We continued north and found a more rugged coastline, meaning some climbing.
And then the route took us off the coastal path and onto the very narrow street one block in. This street went on and on. Crazy!
As we turned inland we found fields and flowers. We had our fair share of construction barriers and attempted a short cut through an onion field. Not successful, but interesting 🧅
Inland means climbing. Hills and more hills. We saw a castle (ruins) and lovely rolling hills and farms. The photo below is from Google, I didn't get a good shot, probably because it was such a long rough climb my hands were shaking. The hill down was just as scary, quite steep and the constant braking that exhausts your hands.
And then, with just 2 km to go to the campground we followed google maps suggestion, and found ourselves opening private gates, navigating dirt roads and puddles and mud, and even a small stream! Thx google, not sure we actually saved any time this way.
We were welcomed by a (scary) parade of loud honking geese, but we have found a lovely little campsite #17, complete with a clothesline and a log to sit on for our meals. Perfect.
Dinner has been served!
And we are enjoying a warm evening with a mild breeze drying our clothes and my hair 😉
Strava says we climbed 455 meters but I have to be honest, on day 2 of the trip that seemed like a lot more!
As we tuck in for the night, we are listening to a symphony of birds (screen shot below as I recorded the birds on the Merlin App). And lucky we are NOT under a tree so no poop on us tonight 😂
Good night, and thank you for following along. We love comments!
